Dorset Walks with the Dogs

No glossy brochure talk—just solid, dog-friendly loops we know and trust.

Wareham Saxon Walls
Easy loop with flat paths and river views; a great “first walk of the day”. Benches dotted around if you want a breather, and it’s simple to follow.

Wareham Forest & Woolsbarrow
Pine tracks with a short climb to a cracking viewpoint. Sandy in places, so we bring water and decent shoes.

Upton Country Park
Ideal with mixed groups (kids/grandparents) thanks to wide paths, loos and a dog-wash. Parking’s easy and there are plenty of spots to pause.

Delph Woods (Corfe Mullen)
Shady, simple circuits with little streams - perfect when it’s hot. Soft ground is kind on joints and paws.

Thorncombe Woods (Hardy’s Cottage)
Short, pretty woodland loops that feel calm and green. Can be busy at weekends, so we go early.

Affpuddle / Briantspuddle
Quiet lanes and woods that are often almost empty. Lovely and peaceful - just watch for livestock in a few fields.

Studland to Old Harry Rocks
Huge views and proper “wow” moments along the cliffs. Definitely keep dogs on a lead here and aim for quieter times.

Sandbanks Promenade
Flat, breezy and great for a proper stride without mud. Check the seasonal beach rules before you drop onto the sand.

Arne Peninsula (marked trails)
Peaceful heath and harbour views with a real sense of space. Stick to the paths - there’s lots of wildlife around.

Durdle Door & Lulworth (off-peak)
Steep in places and crowded in season, but stunning when it’s quiet. We go early or off-peak and take our time on the hills.
